DIANOX SA — Waste Management of the Prefecture of Chios — is the body responsible for the island's municipal waste, with a goal stated in its own words: "informing and educating everyone on the great matter of waste". We created its website anew, on exactly that goal — so that the organisation's work is described in detail and in the open.
The menu follows the subject matter: Landfill and Waste, Recycling, Legal Framework, News, Contact. Each section opens into its own pages — the Cell, the Leachate Management Works, Environment and Landfill, and separate FAQs for the landfill and for recycling.
The landfill's workflow is presented step by step: numbered stages, with photographs we took on site at the facility, so that anyone can see on their phone exactly how it operates.
Changing habits, protecting the environment, gaining life!
Recycling has a section of its own and its own FAQs — the educational side of the goal. The News, with the organisation's announcements and awareness activities, is updated by us: the collaboration includes content management, along with hosting and technical support.
The most detailed part of the website is the landfill's environmental monitoring: a meteorological station, boreholes checking the groundwater, leachate analyses in a laboratory inside the facility and in an external one for comparison, biogas measurements, remote supervision through SCADA. Even the siting criteria of the landfill basin are published. Because our work here had a double aim: to bring out the value of the organisation's purpose, and to keep the public informed on a matter that concerns us all.
